::Migration is Beautiful Pt. 2::

Voice of Art - Migration Is Beautiful, Pt. 2

"Voice Of Art follows Favianna Rodriguez, Culture Strike and Sound Strike to the front lines of the immigration battle in Tucson, AZ. Local human rights lawyer Isabel Garcia illustrates how D.H.S. funnels migrants into the deadly Arizona desert. Activist Roberto Lovato reveals the truth about immigration crackdown and how it is big business for the prison industrial complex. Jasiri X, Invincible, Shining Soul and a group of artistic visionaries come together for a hip-hop/poetry cypher at the U.S./Mexico border before rocking crowds at a pro-migrant music and art jam." iamOTHER

Voice of Art - Migration Is Beautiful, Pt. 1

"Meet powerhouse artist/activist Favianna Rodgriguez -- a leading voice in the movement of artists raising awareness about U.S. immigration issues. Favianna is a co-founder of both Presente.org and Culture Strike, two groups pushing back against the wave of anti-immigrant rhetoric and legislation that has recently swept the nation. Pulitzer Prize winning author Jose Antonio Vargas explains the ironies of anti-immigration hysteria in a country founded by immigrants. Favianna participates in a visual campaign using the Monarch Butterfly as a symbol of the beauty and dignity of migrants." iamOTHER

Check this series out, Favianna Rodriguez showing how art can get people social aware and create social change through art. A great example of what art can be all about.

::Not the Average Girl from Your Video::

My momma said a lady ain’t what she wears but what she knows…
But I’ve drawn the conclusion, it’s all an illusion
Confusion’s the name of the game
A misconception, a vast deception,
Something got to change
Now don’t be offended this is all my opinion
Ain’t nothing that I’m saying law
This is a true confession
Of a life learned lesson
I was sent here to share with y'all
So get in when you fit in
Go on and shine
Clear your mind
Now’s the time
Put your salt on the shelf
Go on and love yourself
‘Cause everything’s gonna be alright

::LAZY THOUGHTS OF A LAZY GIRL::

::LAZY THOUGHTS OF A LAZY GIRL::

(clicking link above will take you to the html version of the book, this link will take you to other available formats )

12 humorous essays presented by pseudonymous, Jenny Wren. A response to the famous print of Jerome K Jerome, Idle Thoughts, of an Idle Fellow.
  • On Love
  • On Bills
  • On Politics
  • On Afternoon Tea
  • On Dress
  • On Christmas
  • On the Country
  • On Town
  • On Children and Dogs
  • On Concerts
  • On Dancing
  • On Watering Places
But, though slight, this is a refreshingly cynical and independent-minded account of Victorian society, written with a charm, wit and lightness of touch to rival Jerome himself.
